Northern Voyager
Prepare for a road trip like no other to experience the best of New Zealand's North Island. Discover movie magic, explore glowworm caves, experience the rich Maori culture, and traverse the world-famous Tongariro Crossing.

One day is enough to see Milford Sound. It's not enough to see New Zealand. Our multi-day small group tours run from 4 to 25 days, fully guided, with your route, accommodation and a chunk of your activities sorted before you land — so instead of ticking off one bucket-list stop, you get the whole trip: glaciers, fjords, geothermal valleys, glowworm caves and everything in between.

Wild Kiwi is a B Corp Certified tour operator, which means we’re independently verified for our social and environmental impact. We travel by the Tiaki Promise: Aotearoa's pledge to care for the land, the people, and the culture.
Small groups leave smaller footprints. Even on a fast-paced North Island tour, our group cap of 18 means less pressure on the trails and viewpoints we visit.
We also choose low-impact suppliers and brief every guide on Leave No Trace principles.
Our guides introduce Māori place names, stories and customs as you travel. We also engage thoughtfully at cultural experiences along the route, whether that's a hāngī dinner at Mitai or a stop at a wāhi tapu site.
Real stories from travellers who've experienced the magic of New Zealand with us
It's the most complete small group option we offer — both islands, at a pace that allows for genuine depth rather than a highlights reel. No trip length covers literally everything New Zealand has to offer, but 25 days gets closer than any shorter itinerary.
Our 25-day tours start from $8,670 NZD for Grand Adventure (Adventure tier) and $17,525 NZD for New Zealand Showcase (Premium tier). Both prices cover a dedicated guide, transport, accommodation for every night, and a number of included activities across the full route.
Grand Adventure is our Adventure-tier option, built for 18 to 39 year olds with a livelier pace, a group of up to 18, and more budget-conscious accommodation. New Zealand Showcase is Premium-tier, open to all ages, capped at 14 guests, with upgraded accommodation and a slower rhythm. Both cover the same full North-to-South route.
Yes, the itinerary alternates high-energy stops with quieter regions and travel days, so the trip has a natural rhythm rather than 25 back-to-back big days.
Generally, yes. Bundling transport, accommodation, and routing into a single long itinerary avoids duplicating costs associated with planning and booking several standalone shorter trips to cover the same regions.
Yes. Many guests add pre- or post-tour nights in Auckland, Queenstown or Christchurch. Our booking team can help arrange extra accommodation, transfers or add-on experiences around either itinerary.
Yes, solo travellers make up a large share of guests on tours of every length, including our longest itineraries. See our full guide to solo travel in New Zealand for more.
